About unpicking dress

This site explores current fashion theory in our everyday lives. My PhD, Military Uniforms in the 18th Century: Gender, Power and Politics, was supervised by Elisabeth Findlay and Jennifer Craik, author of The Face of Fashion (1994), Uniforms Exposed (2005), and hence, is highly influential in using theorists such as Pierre Bourdieu, Marcel Mauss and Michel Foucault. I also have a continued interest as an artist in textiles and this site will from time to time explore the visual world.
